OK, it’s the same war beast body with a different tail. They are calling it a dire wolf war beast on the Armorcast site, but I was calling it a Stormwulf in my head when I sculpted the tail.

Thanks to the fine gentlemen at Armorcast, Rakhar now has pic up of him on the warbeast from three different angles. Thanks guys. Can hardly wait to see him painted.

I have it from Ginfritter, one of the Ascended Masters of Armorcast, that the Zone Effect – Cloud, the four Marks and the Bloodied base should be in the Baelor Armorcast Store this week.

I’ll let you know when they are up for sale.

For anyone interested in a slightly wolfier version of the War Beast [pictured one post below], a Storm Wulf variant war beast will be available soon from Armorcast with a wolf-like tail [same war beast body, alternate wolf tail].

Finally, not currently pictured [but available in the Baelor Store] is Rakhar, Thrall of Dyss, a plate-armoured knight, mounted on the very same war beast. So If you want a lord or knight of chaos along with your war beast, try some Dyss-order.

Ginfritter, in addition to changing the world one mold at a time, is a very talented figure painter. He is in the process of painting up Rakhar and beast even now. I can’t wait to see it!

Since I have not been able to turn up my camera, I have dug up a couple of old pics of a fig just released by Armorcast.

The pic is not wonderful but gives another view of the critter than the one in the store.

Just got news that Armorcast received the package that I sent with the marks, bloodied base and new zone effect. So they will be throwing those in molds ASAP.

On another note, I am currently sculpting a dunkleosteus for Armorcast [as a commission, not to go in my store] and am almost done. I am going to try getting decent pictures using my son’s camera [it has the resolution, I think I am just doing something wrong]. If I get decent images, I will post some here.

We played the final, climactic battle in my friend Rick‘s 4E campaign ‘Post Tenebrous Lux’ last night, so I was able to trot out the Zone Effects markers for the first time. Now, I had only received them from Armorcast earlier that day, so I did not have time to paint them [thus all the markers are grey].

The Markers worked GREAT! We had several ongoing effects, a huge one that radiated out 5 squares in all directions from the origin point, a 3×3 zone of lightning that was in the midst of that, and the power which really showed how useful the markers were – a mobile 3×3 zone that the cleric set up.

While there was a tiny bit of confusion due to the markers from the three effects all being the same colour[easily remedied by PAINT], were able to easily distinguish between them and the areas they covered were obvious on the table top. I am quite certain that the cleric’s hopping zone would have been far less useful and far more difficult to adjudicate if we had not known exactly where it was each turn. As it was, that was the single most effective power in the battle. The cleric moved the zone just about every turn and it was easy to do [even on a crowded battlemap] and clearly denoted the affected square.

I was so pleased, I didn’t mind so much that my Avenger could not hit the broad side of an Oni.

Here are a couple of pics that my friend Erik [with a K!, dammit] took of the proceedings. Apologies for the photo quality, we had to choose between a camera from a phone and no camera at all.

Rick has posted a session report on his site, so you can read the details of the end of his campaign over there.

I just received casts of the Zone Effects – Flame, and they came out REALLY well. Very clean and detailed. I am so pleased with the results.

Thanks go to the guys at Armorcast for doing a fine job of casting. They should be receiving the package of Zone Effects – Cloud, and the marks and Bloodied base any day now, so look for news about those being available soon.

Well, I have spent the weekend looking for my camera with no luck, so it looks like I will have to send the Zone Effect – Cloud, the 4 Marks, and the Blooded base off to the caster without taking pics. Sorry if you were waiting for a look, but I don’t want to hold them up any longer. The sooner I can get them to Armorcast, the sooner they are available for sale.

I also finished the first 4e wall section – Stone. It fills a 1 inch square and stands about 28 mm tall. Sorry, again no pics. I think we will be selling it in packs of 8, so you can make up a pretty long wall [eight 1" segments]. The sculpted piece is intended to be part of a long string of segments, so it has sides that meet pretty flat, and 2 different faces. If you swap the faces around when you put the segments down on the table, you get a pretty varied appearance that does not look like you have eight of exactly the same thing. If the Stone Wall does well, I want to sculpt up some more for other wall types.

Stay tuned and I will be sure to tell you when Armorcast gets all this stuff in production. Or better yet, have a look at the links on the right of this page and take a look at what Armorcast has right now. The link takes you to the Baelor page on their site, but once you have seen what I have for sale, you can get to the rest of Armorcast easy-peasy.

I have completed the new Zone Effect to go with Zone Effect – Flame. I have also finished Mark Tokens [for Marks or similar ongoing effects in the 4E]. Currently I have one each for 4 of the power sources in the game – Martial, Divine, Arcane, and Primal.

Also ready to go to the caster is a Blooded base. A nicely detailed and themed flat base that slips under a Blooded figure to denote its status. With a little Blue-tac it sticks and you can move figure and the Blooded base around easily. We are hoping to be able to offer this base in red resin, which will make it perfectly useful right out of the package. The Armorcast boys are looking into that right now.

I will have pictures of all of these as soon as I can find my %*(*&^% camera. Stay tuned people.

I will be sculpting some more Zone Effects markers for the current edition of Dungeons & Dragons in the next few days. I’ll have pics as soon as I can.

I am currently working on some other ‘mark’ers and game aids for D&D. Pics of the first of those will be up very soon. Stay tuned.

All will, of course, be available through my store at the Armorcast site [see sidebar].
